Our Story

Rooted in Namibia.
Born from the road.

For more than 25 years, we have made Namibia our home — not just our subject. We have driven every gravel road, camped under every sky, and learned the rhythms of a land that does not reveal itself easily to those who merely pass through.

What began as a passion project — a desire to share what we were witnessing — grew into something we could not have imagined. Maps drawn from first-hand routes. Wildlife guides written from hours of patient observation. Publications that carry the weight of real experience.

That authenticity is not a marketing claim. It is the only way we know how to work. It is what makes the difference between a guide you trust and one you leave in the glove box.

Our story — Projects & Promotions in Namibia

“We do not write about Namibia. We live it, and then we share what we find.”

If you want to know more about where our work comes from, or if you are planning your own Namibian journey, we would love to hear from you.

In the Field

When the research
requires a boat.

Not every road in Namibia is a road. Some of the country's most extraordinary places are only reached by mokoro, on foot, or by following someone who has known the path their whole life.

When our publications call for it, we go wherever the research takes us — into the channels of the Caprivi Strip, alongside the guides who read the floodplains better than any map. These are the collaborations that make our work credible.

Authenticity is not something you can manufacture. It comes from being there, fully — and from the generosity of the people who share their knowledge of this land with us.

“The best pages in our guides were written by the people who showed us the way.”

Our Philosophy

Travel.
Experience.
Share.

Everything we create begins with the same three words. They are not a slogan — they are the sequence. You cannot share what you have not experienced. You cannot experience what you have not sought. This is the order in which we work.

01

Travel.

We drove roads that were not on any map — because the map did not yet exist. That is how the first Namibia Road Map came to be. Not from a desk, but from a bakkie and a genuine hunger to know every corner of this country.

We have crossed the Skeleton Coast before sunrise, watched Etosha's pans flood in February, and traced the edges of the Namib where the dunes meet the sea. The knowledge in every publication we produce comes from this — from thousands of hours behind the wheel and on foot.

Travel, for us, is not a holiday. It is the raw material of our work.

Every kilometre we drove was research. Every observation was an edit.

02

Experience.

Namibia rewards those who slow down. A wildlife guide is only as good as the hours spent watching — not the hours spent writing. We believe in that difference, and it shapes everything from the way we spend a day in the field to the way we lay out a page.

Our guides do not simply list species. They explain behaviour, habitat, and timing. They tell you when to be at the waterhole and why, how the light falls in the late afternoon, and what the silence sounds like just before something appears at the treeline.

Respect for the land and its creatures is embedded in how we work. We observe. We wait. We do not disturb.

The best guides are written by the ones who waited longest.

Share.

Namibia is one of the least-visited countries on Earth, and we believe that is partly because not enough people have been shown what it truly holds. Our work is an attempt to change that — one map, one guide, one traveller at a time.

Every publication we produce is an act of introduction — an invitation for someone to discover what we discovered. We want people to arrive in Namibia already in love with it. Our products are the first chapter of that story.

When a traveller unfolds one of our maps on the bonnet of their car, somewhere in the Namib or on the edge of Etosha, we consider that the highest form of sharing. That moment is why we do this.

A great map does not just show you where to go. It makes you want to go.
